After restarting workstation, PBS was offline so I issued /etc/init.d/pbs restart. I got this error 'Restarting PBS

Waiting for shutdown to complete
Starting PBS
PBS Home directory /opt/pbs needs updating.
Running /opt/pbs/libexec/pbs\_habitat to update it.

Can anyone help me on this. I don’t know what to do with this.

In case you haven’t fixed this yet, most likely the problem is that /etc/pbs.conf has a wrong value for PBS\_HOME. The usual setting is
`PBS_HOME=/var/spool/pbs`
It appears you have it set to /opt/pbs, which is usually the value for PBS\_EXEC.

Still haven’t fixed. My PBS\_HOME is in /var/spool/pbs only. Here is the /etc/pbs.conf file

cat /etc/pbs.conf
PBS\_SERVER=benq
PBS\_START\_SERVER=1
PBS\_START\_SCHED=1
PBS\_START\_COMM=1
PBS\_START\_MOM=1
PBS\_EXEC=/opt/pbs
PBS\_HOME=/var/spool/pbs
PBS\_CORE\_LIMIT=unlimited
PBS\_SCP=/bin/scp
