# No output and error file

PBS job is not producing any output file. A check on the pbs mom\_log file all I see is :-

cat /var/spool/PBS/mom\_logs/20200807:08/07/2020  
08/05/2020 21:04:58;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks  
08/05/2020 21:06:59;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks  
08/05/2020 21:09:00;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks  
08/05/2020 21:11:01;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks  
08/05/2020 21:13:03;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks  
08/05/2020 21:15:04;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks  
08/05/2020 21:17:05;0008;pbs\_mom;Job;2967911.sched01;no active tasks

Checked the network its fine. The output and error files are not created. The job(2970012) is in a running state but doesnt show session ID and elapsed time as below:

2970010.sched01 eopoku normal T1b 138942 2 48 – 48:00 R 25:58  
2970012.sched01 crajah normal ict91.job – 48 48 – 48:00 R –  
2970013.sched01 crajah normal ict92.job 130795 48 48 – 48:00 R 29:30

Other jobs are running fine though.  
What can be the cause of such an error and how do I go about troubleshooting the above problem

Just noting, that’s an odd log file path. Please provide additional configuration data.

The log file location has been changed to a shared NFS storage. Its a HA  
configuration hence there is a shared storage for logs and configs.
