I download the latest version of OpenPBS and installed the server DEB file. No errors.

Normal queue commands did not work so I tried:

$ sudo systemctl status pbs.service

This gave the following error:

pbs.service - Portable Batch System

Active: inactive (dead)
Docs: man:pbs(8)

I made the changes to the update /etc/hosts file as described in the Installation doc (P IG-37)

Then I installed PostgreSQL and added myself as user to the postgres group. I restarted the computer and then reinstalled the OpenPBS server DEB file. The error now changed to:

$ sudo systemctl status pbs.service
○ pbs.service - Portable Batch System
Loaded: loaded (/opt/pbs/libexec/pbs\_init.d; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: inactive (dead)

Any help will be appreciated!
