PBS Installation on CentOS7 instance on Open Stack

Hi,

I am trying to install PBS on Centos7. I am facing an error (Failed to connect to PBS Data Service) while starting PBS Pro. Below is the snapshot for the same.

Any further guidance would be really helpful.

Thanks,

It looks like an issue with hostname resolution. I see the message “Could not resolve dataservice host pbs-server” in the output. Please check your DNS settings, /etc/nsswitch.conf, /etc/hosts, and /etc/pbs.conf to ensure they are configured properly. It doesn’t appear to be an issue with firewalls, but please also keep that in mind if you have further problems.

Hi,

I have cross-checked /etc/pbs.conf, /etc/hosts. The hostname is same for both with proper settings and there isn’t any issue with firewalls as well as DNS

Thanks,
Rakhen

What happens when you try to ping pbs-server?

It says name or service not known. Previously while checking for DNS I did a ping for ssh IP for open stack

I suspect once you get can ping the node successfully you will be able to start PBS Pro.
